If the highway department actually needed to be relocated (only opinions were given), then here are some suggestions from the people at the meeting:
Present site of the Highway Department is obvious solution, good location with space that already works, with utilities, away from the residential areas, and the town already owns the land.
The Town is not growing, so it doesn’t really need a larger Highway Department to fund.
Elmgrove Tech park has parking lots that were turned into grass that would be enough space that could be used for a highway department, that is away from residential areas and near the main roads.
The footprint for the existing area is only 6.7 acres. This could easily be put somewhere else.
Use area near ambulance building on Elmgrove Rd.
Lot next to and/or behind the Town hall.
Leave the Dolomite property as a green space for wildlife.
